Marketing Leader Needed for Brand Launch and Growth
Boppo is a screen-free tablet for kids designed to inspire creativity, help kids learn and have fun. With 10 light-up buttons, a speaker, Boppo is a new kind of device that lets kids engage with music, storytelling, facts, games, and more all without a screen. Faceplates go on top of Boppo placing kids in an immersive world such as the solar system, a farm or the symphony. We've pre-sold over 1,000 units on our Kickstarter campaign, and we’re manufacturing thousands more. We are on track to ship the first units to backers in August.

The Role
We’re looking for a freelance marketing leader to help us launch, grow, and build a beloved brand. This role starts as a freelancer position, with the goal of converting into a full-time Head of Marketing if there’s a mutual fit. You’ll take full ownership of marketing strategy and execution across all channels. You should be excited to shape the brand, drive growth, and be personally involved along the way.
You’ll start by doing much of the work yourself, with the freedom to hire freelancers or build a team as we scale.
- What You’ll Do
- Own the marketing strategy. Develop, prioritize, and execute growth initiatives across all channels.
- Run and grow Boppo’s social media presence. Post regularly, build community, and expand reach (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc.).
- Plan and manage paid ad campaigns across Meta, Google, YouTube, and other platforms.
- Lead influencer and affiliate programs. Identify, pitch, and manage relationships with creators who align with Boppo’s mission.
- Set up and grow our email marketing/CRM flows (e.g., Klaviyo), for both customers and press.
- Oversee marketing content production. Create or coordinate photo, video, and written content across all channels.
- Evolve Boppo’s brand voice from landing pages and emails to ads and social.
- Measure and improve performance. Track key KPIs, run experiments, and optimize growth tactics.
- Act like a founder. Pitch in with customer research, product messaging, user feedback, launch planning, or whatever needs doing.
- What We’re Looking For
- 4–10+ years of experience in marketing with direct-to-consumer (DTC) and/or startup brands.
Experience managing or running performance marketing campaigns (Meta, Google, etc.).
- Strong content instincts and a portfolio of brand-building or growth work.
- Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on.
- Experience working with influencers and creators.
- Startup-minded: you’re self-directed, scrappy, and adaptable.
- Bonus: background in parenting, toys, or early childhood products.
- Bonus: worked on a product that moved from early traction to scale.
- Bonus: Familiar with Shopify, AdCreative.ai, Pencil, etc.
