Meet the Team
You’ll be part of a high-impact Finance team that partners across the business—covering everything from accounting and compliance to process automation, reporting, and strategic finance. As we grow and expand into new markets, your work will be key to ensuring we operate efficiently, accurately, and with a long-term view.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll have ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real difference in how Choco scales financially.
What you’ll do
Take ownership of month-end and year-end closings across multiple entities
Prepare and support financial reporting under HGB (and support IFRS consolidation)
Manage day-to-day finance operations: AP, AR, payroll, tax filings, and cash flow
Ensure tax compliance (VAT, corporate tax, payroll tax) in Germany and across regions
Support SaaS revenue recognition, forecasting, and cash management
Lead and implement automation initiatives to streamline finance processes (e.g. close, billing, reporting)
Work cross-functionally with Legal, People, and Product teams to align finance with broader ops
Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to ensure audit-readiness
Mentor junior finance team members and help shape a scalable, best-in-class finance function
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter IHK, Steuerfachwirt)
5+ years in accounting or finance roles, ideally in SaaS, scale-ups, or fast-paced environments
Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and German tax regulations
Initial experience with IFRS and group reporting/consolidation
Proficiency in DATEV, Lucanet, MS Business Central, Xero, and strong Excel/Sheets skills
Experience with or passion for finance process automation (e.g. PowerQuery, Alteryx, SQL, BI tools)
Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
