Lead Engineer, Probe Repair

Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for expanding ultrasound probe repair capabilities by collaborating with internal teams and external partners to enhance service processes and offerings, increase repair throughput, and drive cost efficiency. It plays a critical role in maintaining product quality by monitoring repair yield, performance, and reliability, using both factory and field data to uphold quality standards and improve customer satisfaction. Success in this position requires strong cross-functional coordination across sites, with a focus on executing within a defined program plan and adhering to established functional practices and procedures.

    Job DescriptionRoles Responsibilities
  • Development of repair and inspection technologies, process qualification, industrialization. Related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.
    Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience in product design and/or manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3 years of process development experience including verification and validation.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Experience medical ultrasound probe design, manufacturing, or repair/refurbishment including familiarity with associated product quality requirements.
  • Demonstrated facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills in driving closure on decisions and issues.
  • Familiarity with ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Experience with entire product lifecycle of GE HealthCare products, including experience with GE HealthCare systems such as: MyWorkshop, Oracle, Quality Management System, etc.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $97,600.00-$146,400.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
