    Description:
  • Assists with the supervision and coordination of the accounting operations for assigned properties.
  • Compiles, reviews, reconciles, prepares and analyzes entries to facilitate the bookkeeping function.
  • Assists with the preparation of financial statements and other reports to ensure accurate, timely information.
  • Responsible and encouraged to make recommendations, suggest financial control changes and report SOP and procedural violations.
  • Direct the work, resolve problems and assist with the performance of the hotels accounting employees.
  • Review and reconcile daily postings, accruals, various general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accurate financial information is available.
  • Role will also be expected to prepare hotel level financial statements as needs dictate.
  • Complete necessary training to promote the efficient, effective and timely completion of accounting activities by property accountants.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the hotel Finance/Accounting team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance and satisfaction of all government, company, franchise and ownership requirements throughout job performance.
  • Review and monitor internal control procedures in the hotel.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
  • Travel required to other company hotels and corporate for meetings, training and task forces.
  • Hours: 40-50 hours over a five day period; scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
    Requirements:
  • Multi-Hotel Accounting Experience
  • Well organized, detail oriented, commitment to accuracy and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite with strong emphasis in Excel.
  • Working knowledge of M3 Accounting, Sage or Peachtree software
  • Willingness to learn new processes, best practices and personal development.
  • Can perform in a busy environment moving from task to task with little notice.
  • Team player, professional and lead with integrity.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal).
