Contract Market Researcher – Candidate Experience Optimization Project
Clarvida is seeking a skilled market researcher or UX research contractor to support our Candidate Experience Optimization Project (CEOP). This project aims to enhance the recruiting and hiring journey for priority roles across multiple markets and service lines. Your work will directly inform strategic decisions by uncovering actionable insights from internal stakeholders.
Scope of Work:
We’re looking for a researcher to collaborate with our internal marketing and talent teams on the following:
Discovery & Planning (2 hours)
Meet with Clarvida project leads to understand goals, timelines, and organizational context.
Offer strategic input on shaping interview and focus group formats, timing, and participant flow.
Development & Design of Research Approach (15–20 hours)
Design and build the foundational research tools needed to launch this work, including:
Focus group discussion guides tailored to each audience (TA, hiring managers, state leaders)
Structured interview protocol
A Miro board template to be used in real-time collaborative sessions (pre-Kaizen)
Question frameworks that align with CEOP goals
Ensure that all tools are accessible, repeatable, and aligned with best practices in research facilitation.
Interviews and Focus Groups (Through End of July)
Lead two-hour, one-on-one discovery sessions (2 hours long each, 10-15 interview total) with Clarvida team members to get up to speed on project context and help shape our preparation ahead of a Kaizen-style working session.
This includes:
1-hour structured interview:
Conduct a deep-dive Q&A session with a key stakeholder to gather detailed feedback on the current state of the candidate experience, pain points, and opportunities. This interview will help inform the themes to explore during the focus groups.
1-hour Miro board collaboration session:
Walk through an existing conceptual whiteboard (Miro) with a stakeholder to collect input in real-time. The goal is to test assumptions, gather reactions, and co-build or refine key components of our candidate journey map and planning framework before our upcoming strategy sprint.
Focus Groups (Early August)
Plan and facilitate 3 virtual focus groups (60–90 mins each):
Focus Group 1: Talent Acquisition Team (Our Digital Agency Partner + Indeed Partners will also attend)
Focus Group 2: Hiring Managers
Focus Group 3: State Operations/Leadership
Coordinate scheduling and provide:
Pre-group survey questions
Discussion guides aligned to CEOP goals
Recording links and notes/transcripts
Research & Analysis (20–40 hours)
Synthesize notes, insights, and feedback from all sessions.
Identify key themes, patterns, and friction points in the current candidate experience.
Provide a high-level research summary that will inform future phases of the CEOP.
Deliverables (Due by Early September)
Final deliverables should include:
Executive summary of key insights by stakeholder group
Theme and pattern analysis
Priority opportunities and trending gaps
Slide deck and report that can be shared with stakeholders
Ideal Candidate:
Experience in market or user experience research
Skilled at distilling complex data and feedback into clear, actionable insights and deliverables
Excellent verbal and written communication and interviewing skills
Experience working with recruiting, staffing, HR projects is a plus
Project Timeline:
Planning & Interviews: ASAP July 15–31
Focus Groups Execution: August 1–15
Final Analysis & Deliverables Due: No later than September 6, 2025
