What You'll Be Doing
- Whether you're stepping into an SLPA or SLP role, you'll play a crucial part in improving communication and academic success for K-12 students. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting or delivering speech-language therapy services per IEP goals
- Conducting assessments (SLP only) and contributing to eligibility determinations
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement effective treatment plans
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining documentation
- Providing individual or group sessions to address speech, language, and communication needs
- Promoting student confidence and engagement through communication support
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- For SLPs:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Alaska SLP license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- ASHA CCCs preferred, but CFs are encouraged to apply
- Prior experience in a school setting is a plus
- For SLPAs:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Alaska SLPA licensure or eligibility to obtain
- Supervision by a licensed SLP as required
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
