Sr/Staff Software Engineer (Developer Enablement)
This position is 100% remote within the United States. Unfortunately, Henry Schein One is unable to hire individuals residing in Alaska, North Dakota, Hawaii, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, or other US Territories at this time. This role will only consider W2 candidates and not C2C candidates.
Job Summary
This role will be an integral part of the Developer Enablement team. A solid candidate for this role will have experience with researching new technologies and frameworks and will identify best practices while implementing tools that help to enable development teams across Henry Schein One.
What you will do
Build and maintain backend and frontend services for our developer toolkit that enable productivity
Participate in architectural definitions with a high degree of innovation and creativity
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in software applications by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes
Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
Conduct code reviews and assure adherence to software coding standards
Implement well suited design patterns and mentor other development teams in their use
Lead development in new technical pursuits and proof of concepts
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must haves:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience
8+ years of software engineering in a professional environment
Experience working on proof of concepts projects
Java with Spring and Spring Boot framework
Microservice architecture with event sourcing
Kafka or similar messaging systems
IntelliJ and Gitlab
Experience with Harness for CI/CD
Experience with development in AWS
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Understanding of software deployment to Docker and Kubernetes
Nice to haves:
Micro-Frontend (MFE) Architecture
ReactJS or other similar UI frameworks
The posted range for this position is $96,000 - $168,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a 10% bonus not reflected in the posted range.
