pstrong1. Job Purpose/Objective:/strong/p
pThis position is responsible for the safe transportation of students from various pickup sites to final destination in a timely manner. This position ensures the reliability of vehicles used in the transportation of students and the deliverance of service excellence to all vendors, passengers, clients./p
pstrong2. Essential Job Functions:/strong/p
pIncumbent may perform any or all of the following:/p
ul
liCommunicate Daily with Office
ul
liSign in AM/PM daily/li
liRadio Check AM/PM daily/li
liReport to base in a timely manner as assigned by office/li
/ul
/li
liDo a daily pre-check of vehicle before starting run and post check on completion of run
ul
liDo a step by step check as stipulated by State and company policy/li
liCheck fluid / gas levels and if needed fill/li
liReport any problems or deficiencies of vehicles/li
liKnow safety features of each vehicle and ensure that they are in working order/li
/ul
/li
liUpkeep of vehicle is responsibility of driver – washing (weekly), detailing (2 hours monthly)/li
liFollow rules / regulations that govern personal appearance, conduct, use of vehicles, etc.

liUniform must be worn daily including company ID/li
liIssued shirt, black/khaki pants, black covered shoes/li
/ul
/li
liSet up routes / times of pickup with parents/li
liKnow rules that apply to pick up and release of students/li
liLearn and complete all forms that are required for reporting occurrences on / off vehicles, observation of child (markings, bruises, etc.), problems that transpire on bus (ST15) – Report to Supervisor/li
liComplete Time Sheets, Rider Counts – turn in daily/li
liMeets all requirements of position on a regular basis – passing of DOT Physical, yearly updates of Traffic Abstract or Hawaii Driver History Record Criminal Abstracts, State Fingerprint Abstract, TB tests, random testing, etc./li
liProvide exceptional customer service to schools, students, community/li
liAttend all training (in uniform)/li
li**Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Day and Evening Charters with occasional weekends will be required./li

liHigh School diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience/li
liMinimum age to drive – 21 years old/li
liAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals/li
liAble to write routine reports and correspondence/li
liAble to speak effectively and communicate on several levels (adults, children, management)/li
liAble to pass a DOT physical/li
liValid driver’s license, clean Hawaii Driver History Record and Criminal Abstract/li
liAbility to upgrade to CDL/li
liFirst Aid, CPR Certified/li
liPass DDC (Defensive Driving Course)/li
liMust meet/adhere to, all requirements of FMCSA, DOT, FTA and DOE as applicable/li
liLearn and pass test on Title 19/li
liAble to work flexible shifts – 24/7 availability for Midday and Late runs/li
liPosition requires working under deadlines and/or pressure/li
liRequires expertise in dealing with people and situations involving complex issues/li
liRequires compliance with company Substance Abuse Policy and DOT Controlled/li
liSubstances and Alcohol Use and Testing regulation/li
