Job Summary

The Patient Access and Revenue Cycle Informaticist (RCI) functioning under a matrix reporting structure with the Community Connect Program Manager and Revenue Cycle Application Manager, is responsible for monitoring the overall patient access and revenue cycle performance of Connect sites using Epic Patient Access tools, Epic Hospital Billing or Professional Billing. RCI ensures sites are effectively leveraging Epic to optimize financial outcomes, support successful implementation, and provide ongoing partnership with site leadership to drive patient access and revenue cycle excellence. The primary objective of the RCI is to facilitate the seamless integration, utilization, and optimization of revenue cycle management and patient access processes and applications by leveraging data and analytics, identifying root cause and proposing and seeing through solutions to effectively support hospital operations and financial objectives This includes attending Epic training, engaging actively during new site implementations, overseeing monthly financial reporting, and meeting regularly with live sites to review metrics and align on improvement priorities.

RCI will need comprehensive knowledge of hospital operations, patient access, billing and reimbursement to engage operational stakeholders in revenue cycle performance optimization opportunities. The RCI promotes excellent customer service and possesses strong communication skills to ensure the success of customer site. This RCI Works with other members of the Xtensys staff, clinical and operational departments and other Xtensys team members to accomplish the goals established for the project.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Run the Professional Billing Community Connect Financial Metrics report monthly to track overall site performance; follow up with Connect sites as needed.
  • For Hospital Billing sites, review HB Overview Dashboard or Financial Pulse data regularly.
  • Collaborate with Community Connect Program Manager, Revenue Cycle Applications Manager, and VP Applications in ongoing accreditation readiness
  • Stay informed about upcoming Epic features and communicate relevant updates to Connect sites.
  • Develop and oversee action plans for improvement when sites are not satisfied with their financial performance.

    Skills and Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Epic patient access, revenue cycle systems, and workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital operations and revenue cycle
  • Background as an Epic analyst, revenue cycle manager, or operational leader, preferably with business office experience.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with Connect site leadership effectively.
  • Customer service focused to optimize Customer site revenue opportunities
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and highly organized, able to manage multiple sites and competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment by accepting and offering constructive feedback and supporting team goals.
  • Ability to gather, translate, and communicate business or clinical requirements into technical solutions for revenue cycle implementation.
  • Ability to multitask and complete assigned tasks independently with minimal guidance with close attention to detail, and ability to offer some guidance to other team members. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems and offer solutions.
  • Required: Completion of Epic’s Financial Success Manager training within 6 months of hire
    Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration or another related field preferred.

  • Physical Nature of the Job Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
