Amentum seeks a Principal Network and Systems Engineer – IT Solutions Implementor!
Amentum seeks a Principal Network and Systems Engineer – IT Solutions Implementor to provide IT solutions and support (remotely), for Amentum programs and projects worldwide. This is a remote-telework role, you must live in the US, and you must be a US Citizen to apply.
- Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate program or project requirements and make appropriate technical recommendations.
- Provide Security Assessment technical support for programs and projects to the Amentum ISO department as needed.
- Manage and maintain servers and network infrastructure at program and project sites as needed.
- Contribute written detailed technical solutions to proposal staff during proposal efforts.
- Manage IT staff at program and project sites as needed or to support IT staffing shortfalls.
- Coordinate and implement on-site development, installation, repair, maintenance and testing of IT Infrastructure for program and/or projects.
- Diagnose errors or technical issues for existing programs or projects and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Provision Azure virtual servers and application.
- Deploy VSAT e.g. Starlink, and mobile cellular internet service worldwide.
- Install and verify physical ISP/OSP CAT6 (or later) cable infrastructure as needed.
- Produce timely and detailed documentation during support phases.
- Establish documentation of new or existing IT processes.
- Follow all Amentum policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with Amentum Corporate IT technical teams and share information.
- Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings to stakeholders.
- Build positive relationships with program and project personnel, to include both Amentum employees and Amentum Customers.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills.

- Demonstrated analytical, research, and technical writing skills.
- Strong MS Office Suite and Visio skills.
- Strong professional English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field. Two years of experience can be substituted for each year of the Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 12 years of related experience working in the field of Information Technology; 8 years of experience with a related Master’s degree.
- Minimum five years of experience working on Azure GCCH and Commercial cloud computing environment.
- Five years of specific remote program or field support experience outside of Continental United States.
- IT Certification: Current certification as a Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
- Security Certification: Must have a CASP, SSCP, CISSP or equivalent.
- Security Vetting: Willingness and ability to obtain/maintain a minimum of a DoD Secret clearance. Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of employment.
- Travel: Must be able and willing to travel world-wide, 40% or more.
- Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Oracle SQL Database, Sharepoint, ASP.Net, and other web development platforms.
- Experience working on Unix and Linux OS.
- Experience working on VMware systems.
- Proficient working on Meraki and Unifi/Ubiquiti network environment.
- Strong presentation skills.
