Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team, with opportunities for career advancement. The ideal candidate will perform foundational accounting tasks, support the finance team, and gradually take on greater responsibilities as they grow within the company. This is an on-site position to start, with remote work consideration once the candidate demonstrates independence and consistently meets deadlines. The position reports directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Entry-Level Accounting Duties:
- Enter and categorize credit card transactions accurately within the accounting system, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Record and process customer deposits promptly to facilitate accurate cash flow management.
- Enter Bills and Invoices into the accounting system, verifying amounts and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile inventory records with physical counts and accounting data to maintain precise inventory valuation.
- Prepare and enter bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, to ensure alignment between bank statements and financial records.
- Facilitate the procurement process by processing purchase orders and recording related transactions within the financial system.
- Maintain organized financial records for multiple brands.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist with preparing financial reports and summaries as needed.
- Additional Duties:
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Support audit processes by providing required documentation.
- Assist in implementing process improvements within bookkeeping routines.
- 90-day performance review to assess progress and potential for increased responsibilities.
- Training and mentorship aimed at developing skills toward accounting and managerial roles.
- Potential advancement to Accountant and then Controller roles based on performance, competency, and company needs.
- Qualifications:
- College degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience with Net Suite accounting software.
- Familiarity with Shopify and Webgility integration tools is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive hourly wage of $25/hour.
