The first is to develop, coordinate and implement university-wide course-to-course articulation agreements for the undergraduate Core Curriculum and major requirements for degrees in the College of Arts and Sciences (College), the Knauss School of Business (KSB), and the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering (SMSE). The second is to form and maintain strategic relationships with other academic institutions to participate in the development and oversight of transfer programs such as ADT (Associate Degree to Transfer) that articulate curricular requirements for students who transfer to USD. Goals for this position include: Develop, coordinate and maintain a comprehensive articulation agreement program with community colleges, specifically with feeder schools in California and elsewhere, acting as the university representative and serving as liaison with the representative articulation committees and staff across and at these institutions. * Provide knowledge and expertise in working with the Core Curriculum Committee and representatives of USD academic programs to develop, maintain and provide oversight for transfer agreement policies, particularly as related to IGETC and CSU-GE requirements. * Provide information and guidance to faculty and other university representatives on course articulation issues, especially as related to the review, revision and development of courses with articulation potential. * Participate on College, KSB and SMSE committees and/or external organizations, serving as an advisory member, that focus on (but are not limited to): online curriculum issues, core review, undergraduate majors, and degree programs. * Participate on University committees that focus on transfer student processes. Work closely with Undergraduate Admissions to work with feeder schools, domestic and international, and to develop articulation policies for incoming international first year and transfer students with high school and university foreign transcripts. * Inform the University about changes or developments in new courses, policies and operations from schools with which we have or potentially will have articulation agreements. * Maintain, prepare and provide oversight of budget as related to the articulation office. * Work closely with the Office of the Registrar; Enterprise Applications; Dean's offices in the College, KSB, and SMSE; and other academic departments and programs. Duties and Responsibilities: Articulation - Institutional Liaison Serve in an advisory role and provide subject matter expertise in working with faculty and administrators to identify articulation needs. Implement a comprehensive system internally and with community colleges Direct and maintain implementation of articulation agreements through internal processes related to transfer of non-institutional courses Monitor each stage of the articulation process and follow up with academic units and departments to provide timely responses and decisions Serve as a proactive and strategic agent for enhancing and improving existing articulation agreements Maintain articulation records, prepare and disseminate articulation reports as needed by University committees and other collegiate organizations Identify transferable and non-transferable courses for current and incoming students Initiate faculty-approved articulation agreements for the Core Curriculum as well as major courses Disseminate current, accurate articulation data to students, faculty and all appropriate departments, and college campuses Maintain data for evaluated courses in Banner Work with Undergraduate Admissions and other offices to determine community college feeder schools for course and program articulation agreements Assist military students with courses transferable to USD Serve as an advocate for transfer students and, through the articulation agreement process, seek to clarify course-to-course and program articulation Articulation - External Liaison Establish and maintain an appropriate network of professional contacts to assist in determination of transfer credits (i.e., California Intersegmental Articulation Council) and development of transfer programs such as ADT with community college partners Update and maintain articulation agreements with local community colleges that clearly define course equivalents for USD's Core Curriculum requirements and for major and degree programs Serve as the university's representative during participation in regional and state articulation-related activities and organizations to remain informed about inter- segmental articulation changes and developments Special Conditions of Employment: The University of San Diego is requiring all employees to follow our Covid-19 vaccine requirement process. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a Master's degree, preferably with related experience Evidence of three years teaching and/or counseling experience at the community college or university level Demonstrated experience working in college articulation, outreach transfer, or with curriculum Experience with computer software and technology related to transfer articulation Familiarity with Microsoft Office and transfer evaluation software packages (Banner) Performance Expectations: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
