Mission and Goals
We are looking for a Product Design Director to drive the design direction across Gen's products, with a key focus on the LifeLock and Norton Money experiences. This role addresses an important design leadership gap, ensuring a cohesive, strategic, and customer-focused approach to product design. The Product Design Director will provide the oversight necessary to align cross-functional teams, define a clear experience strategy, and elevate the quality and consistency of our products. This role is vital not only to improving user satisfaction and trust but also to accelerating execution, strengthening our brand, and supporting long-term business growth.
- Short-term goals: Drive design strategies and experiences that optimize customer engagement, loyalty and enhance product design.
- Long-term goals: Lead a design team that contributes to sustainable business growth through continuous design innovation, customer-focused strategies, and strong collaboration.
Objectives
- Lead a team of designers to drive excellent customer experiences.
- Deliver customer-centric and data informed experiences that are meaningful, cohesive, accessible, and usable.
- Oversee all aspects of design, including interaction design, information architecture, and visual design to develop and execute business strategy and vision.
- Represent work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts.
- Own the overall experience and partner closely with product & engineering peers to ensure we are building a product that our customers need and love.
Competencies
- 10+ years of design leadership at technology-driven, product-focused companies, specializing in crafting engaging, customer-facing software experiences.
- Proven success leading design teams of 5+ members, driving the delivery of multiple large-scale, ambiguous features that span end-to-end customer journeys across diverse platforms.
- Expertise in setting and executing a strong design vision — both in early-stage (0–1) product development and in evolving mature B2C products — with a focus on delivering high craft and cohesive user experiences.
- Strategic product thinker with a track record of shaping product goals, uncovering key opportunities, and making decisions grounded in human impact and business outcomes.
- Exceptional communicator and collaborator, adept at partnering with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on shared goals and deliver compelling results.
- Robust portfolio showcasing end-to-end design work, demonstrating a clear design process and ability to tackle complex projects with creativity and precision.
- Passionate, humble, and endlessly curious, always exploring new market trends, emerging technologies, and pioneering user experiences.
- Thrives in geographically distributed teams, bringing adaptability and proactive communication to remote collaboration environments.
- Bonus: Previous experience working on identity-driven or authentication-focused products is a strong plus.

Salary Ranges:
$200,000.00 - $275,000.00The pay range depicts a base salary range for all positions except commission-based roles. The pay range for commission-based roles represents On Target Earnings (annual base salary + target annual commission). Additional compensation elements may be offered including an opportunity for bonus incentives and also competitive benefits package. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as the external/internal market demand, location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
