DESCRIPTION

The GIS Analyst will provide on-site and remote support for a military client’s GIS program, beginning October 1, 2025. The program’s mission is to manage a site-wide geospatial capability and use that capability to support the daily geospatial business needs of all offices. The program is responsible for providing oversight on the creation, maintenance, and management of geospatial data.

Responsibilities include managing and maintaining the GIS data store, coordinating updates of

the GIS layers, providing technical expertise in the architecture and operations of the system and

assisting the GIS manager to provide a wide range of services to support a variety of programs, including facilities planning and management, environmental program management, fire/police services and Antiterrorist and Force Protection planning, as well as other functions. The candidate will also fill customer requests for GIS mapping products and perform various levels of coordination with customers and content contributors.

Support services include but are not limited to:

  • Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) compliance
  • Global Positioning System (GPS) services
  • Geospatial data creation, update, and maintenance
  • Mapping, printing, and plotting of geospatial products
  • CADD to GIS conversion
  • Spatial analysis

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum two-year degree or applicable professional experience; Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in GIS, Geography, Science, or related field of study is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience working directly with GIS data
  • 3-5 years of experience with the Esri ArcGIS suite
  • On-site availability at minimum two days per week, full time preferred
  • Eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) which requires U.S. citizenship and a background check

We are looking for a team player with the preferred qualifications:

  • The ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • High attention to detail and pride in ownership of quality GIS deliverables
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
  • High accountability, motivation, and quick responsiveness when working remotely during work hours
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability and motivation to quickly learn new concepts and content
  • Ability to perform field work for GPS data collection or verification of assets
  • Familiarity with Trimble GPS units preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with DoD Real Property accountability preferred, but not required

COMPENSATION

The range for this role is $72,000-$89,000. This will be dependent on the skills of the incoming candidate and geographic location.
