We’re searching for an Accounting Manager to join our Accounting Controllership Services team on a remote basis (must live in the United States). This position is responsible for all facets of client engagements, including supervising staff and directing the day-to-day progress of engagements. This role requires a combination of technical accounting expertise, leadership skills and client relationship management abilities. The Accounting Manager will possess a thorough knowledge of the Firm’s policies and procedures and serves as a liaison between clients and the Firm. They are responsible for maintaining high-quality service delivery, fostering client satisfaction, developing employees under their supervision and driving business growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping specifically within experience in Construction or Healthcare.
  • Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive environment.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Sage MAS 90, MIP, CCH Axcess, BILL or ADP.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory position.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting and/or controllership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients, providing high-quality financial services tailored to their specific needs.
  • Utilize accounting software expertise to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and enhance client deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, staying abreast of industry updates and best practices.
  • Assess financial performance, trends, and forecasts to provide data-driven decision-making to boost client services, identify opportunities of value-added service lines, and improve client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding accounting-related inquiries, issues, and recommendations.
  • Work with the Firm’s management team to lead and monitor performance goals such as chargeable hours, growth, profitability, and innovation.
  • Collaborate across various organizational departments and work with cross-functional teams to execute goals.
  • Perform technical quality control review of returns and other engagement items.
  • Assist in the development, preparation, and delivery of internal and external continuous education.
  • Comply with the Firm’s training and continuous education requirements.
  • Meet the Firm’s guidelines for productivity and utilization standards.
  • Manage the onboarding process of new clients to facilitate a smooth transition to our services.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions prepared by the ACS team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivables, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Manage the lifecycle of projects/client engagements/business operations and/or subordinates as outlined in the Supervisory Responsibility section.
