Chef, Remote Camp

We are seeking a skilled Chef to work in a remote camp location, responsible for directing and coordinating kitchen activities, supervising associates, and ensuring high-quality food production. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of chef experience, advanced food safety training, and a Red Seal Certification. This is a seasonal position with a starting hourly rate of $33.00.

Requirements

  • Fly In/Fly Out, Remote Camp
  • Valid Occupational First Aid (OFA), Level 3
  • 3-5 years Chef experience
  • Advanced Food Safety/HACCP or comparable Food Safety training
  • Red Seal Certification is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies
  • Three years of kitchen management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation
  • Basic supervisory skills, capable of motivating, leading and developing associates
  • Creative ability to apply trendy food items and presentations to operations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying attention to accuracy and detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
