Business Adoption Specialist (12 months)

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2025-07-27

Company Description

Te Tākinatanga | Our Story

At Contact, we’re on a mission to lead the decarbonisation of Aotearoa. But we know that real transformation doesn’t just come from technology – it comes from people embracing it.

That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Business Adoption Specialist to help bring our digital products and processes to life across the business. You’ll be the translator; the person who turns technical into tangible, and ideas into action. Because even the most beautifully designed solution won’t land if it doesn’t make sense to the people using it.

This is your chance to shape how change is experienced at Contact. You’ll work alongside Experience Designers, Product Owners, and stakeholders around the business to make sure our people not only understand what’s changing – but feel supported and confident in making the shift to reap continued value from their products and processes.

Job Description

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role

Reporting to the Chapter Lead for Experience & Business Adoption, you’ll be joining a newly formed chapter that’s redefining how we support people through change. You’ll be backed by a leader who believes in giving you space to shine, and a team that values humans behind the tech, resilience, sustainability, and shared learning.

This is more than a change role – it’s a chance to shape how people experience transformation at one of Aotearoa’s most future-focused companies.

What your days might look like:

  • Designing and delivering adoption strategies that help people get excited about new tech, systems, and ways of working.
  • Creating clear, engaging comms and training materials that meet people where they’re at.
  • Building strong relationships across the business - especially with teams who haven’t worked with us before.
  • Using analytics tools to track adoption and engagement, as well as adjust your approach based on what’s working and isn’t.
  • Keeping feedback loops alive and well - because change doesn’t stop at go-live.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe | About you

You’re open-minded, curious, and generous with your knowledge. You’re not afraid to try new things – or to borrow great ideas when you see them. You’re someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and genuinely enjoys helping others succeed.

What you’ll bring:

Must-haves:

  • Hands-on experience delivering change plans and working closely with users throughout the journey.
  • A knack for assessing change readiness and knowing when a team needs more support.
  • Top-tier collaboration skills - you know how to win people over and bring them along.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools to measure adoption and engagement.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
  • A background in product or change management (bonus points for qualifications like Prosci certification).
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to link tech initiatives to real business outcomes.

Additional Information

This is a 12-month fixed term contract with real influence, backfilling one of our superstar Business Adoption Specialists who is focusing on a specific project for the year ahead.

This role can be fully remote, and we’re open to applications from all over Aotearoa.

Contact is not a place you’ll stagnate. We are growing and offer superb learning and development opportunities along with a bunch of other perks like a ‘Good to be Home’ payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, discounts on Contact Energy products, and more.

This ad will close automatically on Wednesday 30 July but we’re considering applications as they come in so hop to it if you're keen!

Please note, only candidates with the right to live and work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.

Research shows that while men apply to jobs where they meet 60% of the criteria, women and those in underrepresented groups tend to only apply if they tick every box. We're not about box ticking, so if you think you have what it takes but don't meet everything stated above, please still get in touch. We'd love to kōrero.
