Data Scientist, Product Analytics
Duties: Leverage data to enhance product development, user experience, and business strategy at Citizen. As a member of
a cross-functional Data Team, work in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to improve Citizen’s data testing
and reporting capabilities. Apply knowledge and expertise in business analytics to inform and evaluate new features and
experiences. Utilize statistical tests and analytics to support all A/B testing on the consumer side, as well as quantify the
efficacy of product features and changes to our underlying algorithms. Translate data insights into meaningful and
actionable recommendations to business leads across the organization and help build Tableau dashboards for
visualizations. Own the database tables and reporting assets within product vertical and contribute to shared data team
infrastructure. Gather and clean data from various sources such as user interactions, transactions, and behavioral patterns
by applying statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets to identify trends, correlations,
and anomalies. Work closely with product managers and developers to understand user needs and behaviors, using data
insights to optimize product features, user interfaces, and overall user experience to drive engagement and retention. Work
closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, marketing, and sales to integrate data insights into overall
business strategies by providing data-driven guidance for product roadmap prioritization and feature development. Focus
on scaling Citizen through expanding coverage and smart notification distribution by developing predictive models to
anticipate user behavior, product demand, and market trends. Embed as a thought partner within product verticals and
help report, experiment and participate in longer-form analyses that generate insights and guide product and company
strategy.
Minimum requirements: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, statistics, mathematics or a related
quantitative field plus two (2) years of experience as a data scientist or a closely related occupation. Prior work experience
must include: hypothesis driven analysis using relational database querying (SQL), programming transcripts (Python) and
business intelligence tools to pull, aggregate and generate data and business insights; using statistical methods including
hypothesis testing (AB test, experimentation), statistics regression, and descriptive statistics to validate business
hypothesis and drive product and business strategies; using Business Intelligence Reporting to measure and track
product health; using programming script languages including Python to load, transform, and analyze data; consumer app
monetization strategy including subscription, in-app microtransactions, and third-party ads; supporting financial
forecast and reporting by leveraging product data to build predictive models, track revenue trends, and provide insights for
goaling and strategic planning; collaborating cross-functionally with engineering teams to define data tracking
requirements, ensure data quality and reliability, and integrate data pipelines for product analytics and experimentation;
experience in subscription product development and microtransaction products. May work 100% remotely. Salary range is
