Job Purpose:

The Solution Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Kronos WFM application across non-production and production environments, including participation in go-live activities. This position requires expertise in system operations, deployments, troubleshooting, and a strong adherence to ITIL best practices. The role involves occasional off-hours work for solution deployments.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide application support for Kronos WFM, ensuring stable and consistent IT services across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with Back of Stores (BOS) scrum teams to support Kronos WFM development, deployment, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), assisting the Helpdesk and Level 2 support teams.
  • Be available for off-hours deployments and support activities, typically once a week.
  • Monitor systems using tools like Splunk to analyze diagnostics, troubleshoot outages, and ensure critical components are recovered promptly.
  • Develop procedures for system recovery and manage proactive plans for potential issues.
  • Modify or update Java code when necessary to address system requirements.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the Client's technology ecosystem, including Oracle products, Exadata Cloud, VMware/Linux VM, Hyper-V, and Windows 10.
  • Collaborate across teams to escalate unresolved incidents and ensure critical issues are addressed.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to maintain system reliability and oversee software upgrades.
  • Deliver excellent internal and external customer support to enhance user experience.
  • Document new issues and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for support teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Kronos WFM products (Required).
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle Exadata Cloud Service / Exadata at Customer (Required).
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise software development using Java (Required).
  • Proficiency with Oracle Database (versions 12c/19c/21c).
  • Background in Java software design and development.
  • Experience with Jboss or Oracle WebLogic Server (Minimum 3 years required).
  • Technical and functional knowledge of Kronos WFM upgrades, including planning, testing, and execution.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills across written, verbal, and electronic formats.
  • Capable of interpreting technical documentation and presenting solutions in user-friendly terms.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and manage escalations effectively.
