Researcher/Writer Needed for Case Study on Challenges in Hospitality Compliance Training
A national trade association representing independent training providers in the hospitality industry is seeking a skilled writer/researcher to develop a professionally written case study or white paper examining challenges within the current regulatory environment for food handler and alcohol server training.
The goal is to document key concerns training providers face when interacting with dominant oversight processes, identify systemic trends and barriers, and propose policy-level solutions to help create a more equitable and functional system. The final piece will be used to inform conversations with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
- Scope of Work:
- Interview 5–7 independent training providers (contact info will be provided)
- Identify shared concerns, challenges, and insights
- Research current regulatory dynamics affecting the industry
- Deliver a professionally written report (10–15 pages) summarizing findings and offering clear recommendations
- Qualifications:
- Strong background in research, journalism, public policy, or communications
- Exceptional writing and interviewing skills
- Ability to synthesize complex issues into clear, accessible content
- Experience with workforce training, compliance, or hospitality industries is a plus
- Project Details:
- Compensation: $500 flat rate
- Timeline: 3–4 weeks from project start
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Remote
- Future Opportunities: This project may lead to additional writing or research work with the association or its member organizations.
