Position Overview
We are hiring a Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide remote medication management to a high-volume outpatient population. This position is perfect for an experienced clinician who is comfortable managing dual diagnoses, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and seeks schedule flexibility.
Psychotherapy is not required in this role—our focus is on efficient, high-quality medication management.
- Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up medication management
- Manage patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, and dual diagnoses
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Document encounters and update charts in AthenaOne EHR
- Coordinate care with internal teams (primary care, nutrition, therapy)
- Provide referrals to appropriate services as needed
- Participate in virtual huddles and optional team case reviews
Qualifications
- Required:
- Active PMHNP license in Maryland (or in process)
- RN compact license (required for remote practice across states)
- MSN or DNP from an accredited PMHNP program
- Minimum 2 years of experience in outpatient psychiatric medication management
- Ability to manage moderate to high patient volume
- Proficient in EHR systems (AthenaOne preferred)
- CPR certification
- Reliable internet and private workspace
- Preferred:
- Multi-state licensure
- Experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of documentation standards for insurance and medical necessity
- Experience serving veterans, Medicaid, or high-acuity populations
- Schedule
- Choose 4-, 6-, or 8-hour blocks
- Flexible scheduling: weekdays, evenings, or Saturdays
- No on-call or weekend coverage required
