Are you a motivated, administrative-focused professional looking for flexible hours and meaningful work in the nonprofit, clean energy, and infrastructure space? SCVBA is seeking a detail-oriented Operations and Membership Associate to administer and grow our nonprofit. This is a high-impact role with tremendous potential to grow the organization and expand your leadership footprint. If successful, you will grow this role into a full-time Executive Director.
- What You'll Do:
- Operations Management: Manage Board meetings, communicate financials (accounting performed by third-party consultant), manage internal systems.
- Event Oversight: Plan and manage events with third-party support, including workshops, networking sessions, and conferences. We have two significant events that attract companies from across the United States, and typically a half dozen smaller events.
- Membership Growth & Engagement: Support the Board's efforts to grow a strong regional network of clean energy and infrastructure professionals. SCVBA currently has ~100 members, including south-central local businesses, national contractors, electric utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy developers, government, and non-profits.
- Communications & Outreach: Oversee member communications, newsletters, and social media presence.
- Resource Development: Help launch and manage the Project Hub, an online hub for contractors and industry stakeholders. The Project Hub will serve as a central platform for managing and disseminating information related to the development and construction of various renewable energy projects in the south-central Virginia area.
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Board to execute SCVBA’s mission and strategic goals.
- "Travel: You may be required to travel up to twice a month within a 100-mile radius for company event meetings."
- Who You Are:
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and non-profit operations focused.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a diverse Board and partners
- Experienced in nonprofits, membership organizations, or event planning
- Based in or able to travel to Southern Virginia for Board meetings and in-person events
