Required Qualifications
- To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Middle Grades Science Endorsement (Grades 5–8)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
- Successful completion of background check and fingerprint clearance
- At least 1 year of relevant classroom teaching experience preferred
- Typical Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, standards-based science lessons
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages inquiry and scientific thinking
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate student records, including grades and assessments
- Collaborate with other educators, staff, and parents to support student development
- Participate in school-wide meetings, professional development, and instructional planning
