What You’ll Do as a School-Based SLP

As a School Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students develop the communication skills they need for academic and social success. You'll assess speech, language, and communication challenges and work closely with teachers, families, and IEP teams to deliver personalized therapy. Whether providing direct services, conducting evaluations, writing progress reports, or supporting classroom modifications, you’ll be an essential member of the educational team committed to empowering student voice and progress.

State Requirements for Alaska

To qualify for this role in Anchorage, AK, you must hold a valid Alaska Speech-Language Pathology license through the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. An active Type C Special Services Certificate from the Alaska Department of Education is typically required for school-based roles. ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is strongly preferred, though Clinical Fellows may be considered based on district needs.
