Digital Marketing Analyst (Short-Term Project – Meta + Google Ads Strategy)
Canyon Design Build is a high-end residential design-build firm serving select cities in the California East Bay. We’re looking for a U.S.-based digital marketing strategist for a short-term, tactical project focused on Meta Ads and SEM—designed to clarify, simplify, and set the stage for in-house execution.
- This is a tactical role centered on clarity, visibility, and control. We’re looking for someone who can turn research and analysis into structured, checklist-style systems that plug directly into our project management tools. Deliverables should be actionable, detailed, and designed for internal use—not locked behind proprietary platforms or long-term retainers.
- Audit and improve what’s already in place
- Research and define what we should be doing
- Build clear checklists and SOPs covering every element—audiences, budgets, copy specs, landing page needs, reporting setup, and more
- We want a complete tactical roadmap—not just strategy slides or vague recommendations. The end goal is a self-contained toolkit that empowers our team to confidently manage and scale digital ad efforts in-house.
Meta Ads (Immediate Focus)
- We currently boost weekly Meta posts with small budgets and have Pixel installed. Now we need to make this system smarter, more efficient, and easier to manage.
- Auditing our Meta Ads and Pixel setup
- Refining and standardizing audience
- Recommending objectives for weekly boosts (engagement vs traffic)
- Analyzing competitor creative and providing best-practice suggestions
- Defining ideal post structure: copy, CTA, image/video specs
- Creating a repeatable weekly checklist for internal team to boost posts
- Improving backend reporting via Meta and GA4 (as applicable)
Google SEM + Local Services Ads (Research & Planning)
- We’re not currently running Google Ads. This phase is all about building a small-scale, high-ROI plan we can use to test and expand over time. We need to start very lean and layer complexity only where it adds value.
- Competitive research: who’s bidding on remodel-related terms in our market
- Lean keyword list: focused on local, high-intent, high-ROI searches
- Targeting definition: refining zip codes from our larger map based on household income, age, and other filters
- Campaign framework: number and types of ads, landing page needs, budget estimates
- Copy and creative guidelines: character counts, specs, suggested portfolio content
- GA4 analysis: what’s set up now, and what’s needed to track ad performance
- Local Service Ads research: viability, setup requirements, and ROI projections
- Deliverables
- Meta Ads Playbook: content strategy, audience guidance, backend SOP
- Google SEM Toolkit: campaign structure, targeting, budget plan, checklist
- Landing Page & Ad Creative Guide: detailed requirements for content and specs
- All research and analysis, documented clearly for future reference and reuse
- Everything should be broken into steps, organized for visibility, and usable by our internal team without needing ongoing contractor oversight.
- Project Logistics
- Start: As soon as possible
- Schedule: Up to 2 days/week, ideally Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Initial commitment: 4 weeks
- Extension: Possible, based on progress and next-phase needs
- Communication: Weekly check-ins; responsive during Pacific Time hours
- This is not a long-term executional contract. After the initial phase, we’ll evaluate what remains and decide if continued support is needed—on our timeline.

- U.S.-based and experienced in lean, highly targeted ad strategy
- Meticulous with documentation—your checklists are airtight
- Transparent and communicative, with zero mystery around process
- Comfortable reviewing work live and helping clients understand the systems
- Familiar with the behaviors and expectations of high-income homeowners
