When illness develops and is significant enough to require a hospital stay, Home Hospital can deliver hospital-level care in the comfort of the patient’s home! Common conditions treated by Home Hospital include heart failure, COPD, pneumonia, skin infections such as cellulitis, urinary tract infections, and as well as conditions if deemed safe to do so. We are seeking a part-time Administrative Coordinator to support Home Hospital onsite at either the Massachusetts General Hospital or Chelsea Home Care office Home Hospital site, based on staffing needs which may vary day-to-day. The schedule is 8 hours per scheduled pay period (Sunday to Saturday), which will equate to an every-other-weekend standing schedule (Saturday and Sunday). The shift is 10:00a-6:30p, though flexibility to vary shift hours based on staffing needs would be ideal. For training during the first month of employment, ability to have increased weekend (and/or midweek) hours would be preferred. Please note, Home Hospital is a 7 day per week operation and delivering care days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. There will be a rotation for weekend and holiday shifts. This role may require local travel to other Mass General Brigham sites during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of staffing shortages or other extenuating circumstances (for cross-coverage purposes). Job Summary Responsible for supporting the daily operational functions of the organization. This role involves coordinating various administrative and operational tasks, ensuring smooth workflow, and assisting with the implementation of operational procedures. Qualifications Under the direction of the Business Operations Manager, the Operations Coordinator is an integral member of our multi-disciplinary team. Not only do they work in close collaboration with the nurses, providers, and managers, but they also serve as the liaison between various internal groups/departments/external resources and work directly with patients and families to coordinate screening, consent, and enrollment into the Home Hospital Service. Operational support responsibilities include tracking referrals, admissions, document management, communicating all aspects of the workflow status, promoting an ongoing culture of collaboration and efficiency throughout the patient intake process, scheduling, collection of patient supplies and equipment, and other tasks/projects as assigned. This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously supporting the MGB Home Hospital Service at MGH, while also functioning as part of the newer, larger Mass General Brigham Home Hospital team supporting entities across our system. Prepare and maintain operational documentation, including reports, records, and meeting minutes. Support the implementation and monitoring of operational policies and procedures. Assist with inventory management, including tracking supplies, ordering, and ensuring proper stock levels. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Address and resolve operational issues or concerns in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Basic understanding of hospital operations and regulatory requirements is a plus.
