Position Summary:
Ardmore seeks a skilled and experienced Contract Grant Writer to secure funding that will support our vital disability services and programs. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching grant opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and ensuring timely submission to foundations, corporations, and government agencies. This is a contract position with flexible hours, ideal for a motivated individual with a proven track record of successful grant writing in the non-profit sector.
- Responsibilities and Duties:
- Grant Research: Identify potential grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and private funding sources that align with the organization's mission and program needs.
- Proposal Development: Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, logic models, evaluation plans, and all required supporting documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program staff, finance department, and leadership to gather necessary information for grant applications.
- Grant Calendar Management: Maintain a grant application calendar, ensuring timely submission of all proposals and reports.
- Compliance: Ensure grant proposals adhere to the specific guidelines and requirements of each funding agency.
- Reporting: Assist with the preparation of grant reports as required by funders.
- Communication: Maintain clear and proactive communication with the organization's staff regarding grant progress and deadlines.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of current trends and best practices in grant writing and the human services sector.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Public Administration, Social Work).
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in grant writing for non-profit organizations, preferably within the human services sector.
- Proven track record of securing grant funding from a variety of sources (foundations, corporations, government agencies)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in developing budgets and financial narratives for grant proposals.
- Experience with logic models and evaluation frameworks.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with online grant application portals and databases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to the mission of Ardmore Enterprises.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with grant databases or software (e.g., Grants.gov, Foundation Directory Online).
- Familiarity with the human service landscape in the Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia region
- Compensation:
$75.00 - 125.00 per hour depending on experience
