Position: Dyslexia and/or Dyscalculia Tutor

Dyslexia Solutions is currently seeking certified teachers and Speech-Language Pathologists to provide one-on-one tutoring for students ages 5–15. We are hiring dedicated educators in the following areas:
South Jordan, Sandy, Draper, West Valley, Herriman, Bluffdale, Lehi, and online.

Tutoring sessions are 50 minutes in length and may take place in the student’s home or the tutor’s home, under the direction of an Orton-Gillingham practitioner. A limited number of online sessions are also available based on student need.

Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:
  • Implement structured literacy programs based on the Science of Reading to support students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, under the guidance of an Orton-Gillingham Practitioner.
  • Deliver online math instruction using a curriculum specifically designed for students with dyscalculia.
  • Prepare and plan tutoring sessions with input and direction from the Orton-Gillingham Practitioner.
  • Communicate and coordinate professionally with parents and students regarding scheduling, progress, and concerns.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions in your home for children and struggling readers.
  • Maintain accurate educational records and track student growth and performance.
  • Submit regular progress updates to the supervising Orton-Gillingham Practitioner.
  • Qualifications

A valid teaching license/certificate or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

A quiet, clean, and professional home environment free from distractions and background noise during tutoring sessions.

A designated home office setup suitable for meeting with students (if working from home), or a willingness to tutor from our main location.

A reliable cell phone and/or home computer for communicating with clients and reporting student progress.

Availability for a minimum of 10 tutoring sessions per week (generally 2–3 hours per day; individual session times depend on student scheduling).

    Basic proficiency in using Zoom and other educational platforms/websites for working with online students (if applicable).Additional Information
  • Pay: $27 per session (each session is 50 minutes, plus minimal prep time).
  • Flexible Scheduling: Set your own hours in coordination with each student’s availability.
  • Work Environment: Work from home or from our main location, based on your preference and student needs.
  • Flexible Workload: Tutors must commit to a minimum of 10 sessions per week, but may choose to take on additional students.
  • Training: Paid training, certification, and ongoing instructional support provided.
  • Background Checks: All tutors are required to pass federal and state background checks, as they will be working with children in home settings.
