The Construction Manager is responsible for the HOMEE brand in the assigned market area which may consist of a region, state, city, or portion of a city depending on market size. HOMEE’s Construction Manager is responsible for recruiting and establishing a professional working relationship with all residential accounts and with the professional trades in his/her market. This role is also responsible for all work done in the market which means being able to assess property condition, engage the proper trades to complete property repairs ranging from simple handyman repairs to full property turns and renovations and be able to evaluate and hold the trades to the high-quality standards of the HOMEE brand.

The job requires a high degree of professionalism, strong leadership skills, excellent customer service and communication skills, strong working knowledge of the property management/construction and home services industry, sound judgement in addressing business issues and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, maintain and grow the local business network of Single-Family Residential accounts in your market in conjunction with the Business Development Team.
  • Build, maintain and grow the team of skilled/licensed tradesmen in your market with the support of the Pro Operations team. This includes obtaining additional tradesmen and identifying any training needs.
  • Review work orders from property managers and work with the tradesmen to develop estimates, as applicable.
  • Oversee tradesmen who are responsible for fulfilling work orders to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Personally inspect and manage initial site visits for turns, renovations, and first-time jobs to ensure quality work. Address quality, responsiveness and/or performance issues as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with property managers and address escalations, questions or concerns related to the completion of jobs.
  • Host periodic meetings for contractors to build a sense of belonging, provide training and encourage them to bring additional skilled tradesmen into the HOMEE network.
  • Deliver top customer service and represent the HOMEE brand to build relationships with existing customers and vendors.
    Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 3-7 years of experience in construction management, property renovations or turns
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time to field locations with ability to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsites in all types of weather, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending or crawling.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite in particular proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
  • Customer focused with an ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, supervisors, tradespeople and craft workers.
