Position Overview:
We are seeking a committed and experienced Remote Special Education Teacher certified in Michigan to provide virtual instruction and case management to students with disabilities. This role focuses on delivering IEP-aligned instruction and maintaining compliance with state and federal special education guidelines—all within a fully remote environment.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver virtual, differentiated instruction based on students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and functional needs of K–12 students
- Track student progress, collect data, and maintain documentation aligned with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) requirements
- Participate in virtual IEP meetings, evaluations, and parent conferences
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators to ensure inclusive learning environments
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE)
- Utilize online teaching tools and platforms to engage and support students virtually
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement in Special Education (e.g., LD, EI, CI, ASD, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Michigan’s special education laws, IEP processes, and compliance standards
- Proficiency with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, Seesaw, Canvas)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Prior experience delivering remote instruction or virtual special education services preferred
- Reliable internet connection and a private, secure workspace
