Support Staff apply their skill and subject matter expertise to grade, and provide feedback of student work, and coordinate with online instructors.

This is a temporary* part-time position working on a 7-week block schedule (based on student enrollment). Online Support Staff work remotely and those hired must reside in and physically perform work from Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Texas, or Utah. They must also be able to provide their own work space free from distractions with working computer, headset, and reliable internet. This position is hourly and benefits are not provided.

    Responsibilities
  • Utilizing university and department-level procedures and materials to evaluate student work (including use of rubrics and department-created and maintained feedback templates)
  • Ensuring feedback is actionable, timely, and meets established accuracy and quality standards
  • Using authoritative content expertise to respond quickly to student questions and concerns about assignment scoring
  • Coordinating with appropriate supervisors for quick resolution and fair determination of student performance
  • Participating regularly in training courses and/or training meetings to receive additional guidance and feedback
  • Using feedback received through training and regular quality assurance checks from the evaluation team and department leadership to improve performance
  • Gaining a strong understanding of and commitment to BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s student population as they matriculate to BYU-Idaho or Ensign College
  • Performing other duties as assigned in support of the academic process
    Qualifications
  • Successful candidates will have studied in a Family History-related field demonstrating strong academic performance; relevant coursework or certificates are expected.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise.
  • Preferred experience with online teaching/learning, especially with at-risk learners.
  • High accuracy and efficiency in following strict procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong focus and cognitive endurance, even with repetitive or complex tasks.
  • Adaptability to new processes, procedures, and technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: professional, respectful, and unbiased in sensitive situations.
  • Proven reliability and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and discipline-specific software.
  • Proficiency to grade in one or more of the following areas and classes [click on the links for specific course descriptions]:
