Sr. Analyst/Manager Benefits Compliance

Overview

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Benefits Compliance professional to join our Total Rewards team. Depending on experience, this role may be hired at either the Sr. Analyst or Manager level. This individual will support regulatory compliance across all benefit programs, lead remediation efforts, manage implementations and special projects, and drive benefit integration for acquired entities. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of benefit regulations, excels in project execution, and can navigate complex data and vendor relationships with confidence. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director, Benefits. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

    Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
  • Support regulatory reporting and compliance filings (e.g., ACA, ERISA, 5500s, SPDs, SARs), ensuring timely and accurate submissions
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.) and recommend necessary process or policy updates
  • Conduct ongoing audits of benefit data, enrollment processes, and vendor files to ensure compliance and data integrity
  • Serve as the point of contact for compliance escalations, partnering with legal, payroll, HRIS, and third-party vendors to resolve issues efficiently
  • Support the development and maintenance of employee benefits communication materials related to compliance, such as required notices and disclosures
  • Lead and administer the resolution of outstanding benefits compliance issues, ensuring root causes are addressed, corrective actions are implemented, and future noncompliance is prevented through strengthened processes and controls
    Benefits Operations & Vendor Coordination
  • Assist with vendor oversight, including brokers, carriers, and TPAs, ensuring consistent plan administration, issue resolution, and contract deliverables
  • Perform benefit plan data analysis and reconciliation between internal HR systems and external vendor platforms
  • Maintain documentation of benefit processes and controls to support consistency and audit readiness
    M&A Support
  • Partners with internal stakeholders and brokers to conduct benefits cost comparisons and plan design analyses for acquired entities
  • Support benefit integration and harmonization efforts post-acquisition, including compliance alignment, data conversion, and vendor setup
  • Present benefits overview, plan comparisons, and subsidy details to prospective care centers and physician leaders during due diligence or onboarding discussions, clearly communicating the value proposition of UWH’s benefits offering
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and summaries of benefit comparisons, cost projections, and compliance findings to inform leadership decisions
    Reporting & Analysis
  • Track and analyze benefit plan costs, utilization trends, and participation rates to identify opportunities for optimization
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to support internal stakeholders, auditors, and executive leadership
  • Monitor and reconcile discrepancies in system data and benefit plan records to ensure reporting accuracy
    Project Management & Implementation
  • Support and/or lead implementation of new benefit programs, vendor transitions, and system updates
  • Manage business-as-usual benefits projects (e.g., open enrollment, plan updates) as well as ad hoc strategic initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve employee experience through operational efficiency
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; CEBS or similar certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration or compliance, including at least 5 years as a Benefits Analyst; candidates will be considered for the Manager title with 3+ years of experience specifically as a Benefits Manager
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. benefit laws and regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills; experience with UKG preferred
  • Proven ability to manage vendors, resolve escalated issues, and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience supporting M&A activity and benefits integration is highly desirable
