Our team of 600 people (still growing) operates across France , Spain , Belgium , and Canada .

⭐️ The Data Team ⭐️

Being part of Alan's data team means you'll have a positive impact on people's health and wellbeing. We create insights to help our colleagues focus on what is most impactful. We build features and tools powered by data that directly help our members. Examples include: going deep into health consumption patterns, understanding our product usage, creating visibility to help our sales team perform, automating how we reimburse our members, building reminders that help our members stay healthy...

We believe in having a full stack approach. Each one of us contributes to all 3 aspects of the data spectrum (analytics, engineering, science). This encourages strong ownership and drives impact.

We own our infrastructure. We pride ourselves on a nimble data stack that gives us the flexibility we need. We're mainly using SQL, Python, R, Airflow, Snowflake, and Metabase. We build in-house tooling to organize our data and serve it to the rest of the company.

The internship

We are seeking an exceptional Data Science Intern to join our team for a minimum of 6 months. You will get a chance to make a tangible impact on the healthcare industry and potentially secure a future with Alan.

You would be joining the Insurance Offer team, which focuses on innovating on our health insurance products.. Your objective will be to harness the latest advancements in AI technology to address critical questions such as:

• [NLP] Can LLMs extract and structure legal requirements out of Conventions Collectives Nationales?

• [Risk Assessment] Can a fully machine learning driven approach surpass our existing pricing automation?

Each topic has the potential to be integrated in Alan’s products. You will get a chance to own this part as well after developing a convincing prototype.

Arnaud Buisson and Stéphane Soulier will be there to mentor and assist you throughout your internship at Alan, ensuring you have the guidance and resources needed to succeed.

⭐️ Expected skills and abilities ⭐️

You would thrive at Alan in this internship if most of this sounds like you:

• Passionate about owning ambitious problems and developing simple solutions for them

• Strong foundations in Statistics and Machine-Learning

• Proficient in Python and/or R. SQL is highly appreciated as well

• Setting a high standard of rigor and precision for yourself, interested in your craft

• Great listening and communication skills

• Humble, kind, collaborative, and still willing to grow

• Fluent and clear in English, both oral and written (no need to speak French!)
