Role DescriptionGivebutter is on a mission to power the next generation of changemakers with best-in-class fundraising and donor management tools. We’re looking for a VP of Design to lead and scale our Product Design and Brand Design teams, shaping the future of Givebutter’s user experience and visual identity. This is a unique opportunity to build a design organization at a fast-growing, post-Series A startup, driving impact across both technical and marketing functions.

Responsibilities
Define and drive product and brand design strategy by overseeing the end-to-end design process to ensure our platform is user-friendly and our brand remains distinctive, cohesive, and impactful.
Build scalable design systems that drive consistency across both the platform and brand assets. Define best practices for interaction design, usability, and accessibility.
Scale and lead the design team by recruiting, developing, and mentoring top-tier product and brand designers while fostering a culture of creativity and high performance.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to create a seamless and unified experience across product and brand touchpoints.
Conduct design reviews and feedback loops to maintain a high bar for design quality through critique sessions, user testing, and iterative improvements.
Champion research and data-informed decision-making by leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to optimize design, improve usability, and strengthen brand positioning.
Shape Givebutter’s visual identity by overseeing its evolution across digital and marketing channels, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.
Act as a strategic leader within the Senior Leadership Team by partnering with Finance, Operations, and Revenue teams, as well as the Board, to drive growth, improve efficiency, and align design investments with business objectives.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in digital product design.
6+ years leading design teams within a SaaS or tech company.
Proven track record designing and shipping digital products at scale, with a strong UX/UI foundation.
Experience leading both product and brand design teams, balancing usability with brand storytelling.
Expertise in UI/UX best practices, accessibility, and design systems for complex platforms.
Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing 6+ designers.
Deep understanding of Figma (or similar), prototyping, and user research methodologies.
Business acumen, with experience managing budgets and influencing company strategy.

Interview Process
Below is a high-level outline of our standard interview process
Recruiter Screen: A 30-minute conversation to learn more about your background, walk through the role, and ensure mutual alignment on expectations, values, and logistics.
Hiring Manager Interview: A deeper dive into your relevant experience, skillset, and working style. This is your first opportunity to connect directly with the person who may be your future manager.
Assessment (technical or non-technical): This stage will vary based on the role. It could involve a live coding session, case study, or take-home project. Some roles may include two parts to this stage to evaluate both practical skills and problem-solving approaches
Values Interview: A conversation with team members focused on how you align with our core values and leadership principles.
References: We connect with a few folks you’ve worked closely with to get a better picture of your working style and impact.
Offer: If all goes well, we’ll move to the offer stage!
