Coffee and Training Lead

We're a small but mighty team serving coffees out of our stores in Berlin, Munich and Hamburg and quickly expanding to the rest of Germany. We're looking for a Coffee and Training Lead to develop our training programs for baristas and managers globally.
What you'll do:
As Coffee and Training Lead you’ll be the force behind our Barista’s development and learning curve by building the processes and whole ecosystem to educate our teams around coffee, latte art and product quality across our regions. You’ll design and lead training programs, uphold consistency in beverage execution, support wholesale partners, and innovate with new offerings. This role is ideal for someone deeply passionate about specialty coffee, committed to craft, and excited to shape the next generation of coffee professionals.
You’ll split your time between café team development, quality control, and you have a hands-on approach to both operations and strategic planning.
Develop integrated online and offline training programs for a growing organisation of 100+ baristas
Lead regular hands-on training in espresso extraction, milk texturing, espresso extraction, latte art, brew methods, and service flow.
Develop training materials and learning resources tailored to LAP’s standards and culture in the form of text, tastings, tutorials or Q&As.
Conduct ongoing performance assessments and skill evaluations.
Drive engagement and motivation across teams through mentorship and career development planning.
Visit locations regularly to perform quality control checks and ensure consistency in preparation, taste, and service. Set and refine recipes and brewing protocols across locations.
Work closely with our leadership, especially in F&B , to integrate education into team pathways and performance reviews.
Explore new trends and learning opportunities that we implement as part of our training programs.
What you bring:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on barista experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership, trainer, or education-focused role.
Strong background in specialty coffee; cupping, brewing, and sensory evaluation skills required.
Experience designing and implementing training programs around F&B
SCA certifications (Brewing, Barista, Sensory, or AST) are a plus—or willingness to pursue within the first 8 months.
Proven ability to mentor and inspire teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (German and/or English; bilingual is a plus).
Confident working independently, managing projects, and aligning cross-functionally with café, roasting, and operations teams.
