We’re looking for an outstanding underwriting strategist with expertise in personal lines property and casualty insurance, risk evaluation, and proven experience in executing and managing underwriting strategies. If you’re analytically minded, hands-on, and an aggressive self-starter, this one’s for you!

You’ll be a central member of our Insurance team in Europe, working closely with stakeholders in the Customer Experience, Claims, and Product teams. We’ll look to you to own and enhance our European underwriting strategy and bring forward measures to improve the quality and performance of our book.

What you’ll need
  • 5 + years of underwriting experience in personal lines property, liability, or car insurance

  • Deep knowledge of policy forms, terms & conditions, guidelines, and French law and regulation

  • Track record of managing a profitable, growing book of business

  • Experience working cross-functionally to develop and launch new products

  • Skilled at analyzing complex datasets, uncovering actionable insights, and informing strategic decisions

  • Data-driven and tech savvy, with plenty of independence, drive, and optimism

  • Comfortable and experienced dealing with senior-level stakeholders

  • You’re an all-around team player who learns fast, is eager to solve problems, and loves getting shit done!

What you’ll do
  • Drive profitable growth through sustainable risk selection, balancing ambitious growth targets and profitability

  • Own the underwriting strategy and roadmap for the French market, spanning risk selection, non-renewal strategy, mid-term rules and anti-fraud processes

  • Own the delivery of your strategy and roadmap, including implementation of new processes

  • Identify and reduce risk across key touchpoints to cut down on claims and premium leakage

  • Scout and integrate new data sources and external partners to level up our underwriting capabilities

  • Use Excel and dashboards to analyze trends, uncover opportunities, and shape underwriting decisions (ability to use SQL is a plus)

  • Contribute to new product development, crafting guidelines and processes that support new product launches

  • Collaborate with our insurance product team to draft policy wordings

  • Work closely with our Compliance team to ensure our underwriting stances and processes are complaint and treating customers fairly

  • Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture.
