The Opportunity:
This position is based in Tempe, Arizona and only candidates within a commutable distance to our Tempe office will be considered.
The Revenue Accountant will play a critical role in providing support to the accounting team in processing and reporting financial data. They will perform accounting tasks related to booking transactions, reconciling accounts, financial reporting, assisting in audits, performing month-end close responsibilities, and driving process improvements and efficiencies around current processes. This hands-on professional strives for continuous improvement in accounting operations while working with the team on any ad hoc reporting or implementation project.
What You Get to Do:
Transfer large data sets from various sources into companies ERP (NetSuite) and validate accuracy of related accounting.
Regularly monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
Responsible for booking journal entries during month-end close related to cash, expense, revenue & balance sheets.
Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations for key accounts such as cash, other assets, deferred revenue, and other liabilities.
Review contracts to identify and document key terms related to plan type, fees, renewals, and revenue recognition.
Manages aspects of the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, credit memos, collections, and payment processing.
Assist in completing the month-end accounting close package documentation for assigned accounts.
Contribute to the annual audit by completing PBCs, pulling samples, preparing financials, and answering auditor questions.
Ensure accounting policies are in accordance with US GAAP.
Work independently and cross-functionally on special, nonrecurring, and ongoing projects.
Engage with other departments, focus on aligning goals, trouble shooting, providing cross-functional training, and fostering open communication and collaboration.
What You Bring:
5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting & Finance
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting
Understanding of ASC 606 guidelines
NetSuite experience required
Solid understanding of processes around financial reporting
Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced environment
Strong computer and analytical skills, including high proficiency with Excel
Hands-on, team player who possesses a can-do attitude
Attention to detail and thorough, with a desire for continuous improvement
Experience with Salesforce is preferred
