Protegrity is looking for a talented Backend Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. You'll work alongside other software engineers and machine learning practitioners to design, build, and maintain applications that ensure data security and privacy.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications.
Contribute to continuous development, enhancement, and maintenance of existing and new products/features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following industry best practices.
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
Participate in agile practices of the team/organization as an individual contributor and as a team player.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure software meets business requirements.
Identify, record, document, and track bugs and inconsistencies.
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
Continuously improve test coverage and implement automated tests where applicable.
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous delivery.
Identify opportunities for automation within the development and release processes.
Maintain and enhance existing automation tools and scripts.
Qualifications:
8 - 12 years as a software developer.
Strong proficiency in Python.
Strong data engineering skills.
Well-versed in backend communications and protocols.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform and CloudFormation).
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker and Kubernetes).
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
Strong understanding and adherence to software development best practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Experience with monitoring tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana) is preferred.
Experience with big data processing frameworks (Dask, Spark) is preferred.

Working Model:
This is a hybrid role and will require you to be in office 2-3 days a week. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
