In this exciting role, you’ll be a pioneer in an all-new team at Protegrity!

As Senior Software Engineer, you’ll contribute directly to engineering a new product line within the R&D org. You’ll help shape your team and the technology that your team uses while collaborating with other technical experts across the organization. You’ll use your previous experience implementing security best practices to ensure that our products are secure, stable, and industry compliant.For this role, we’re seeking technical professionals who can hit the ground running and find comfort in exploring the problem space while building solutions to real-world customer problems. This position is perfect for a creative, inquisitive individual who enjoys working with a close team, building technical solutions, and making customers successful.


During your first six months, you’ll contribute to every stage of the product lifecycle – from requirements analysis to documentation to providing tier 2/3 support for products you’ve built. Even though Protegrity is an established company, this team needs to move fast and act like a startup. Thus, small company experience is a plus.


For this role, the ideal candidate will have breadth as well as depth in their experiences and skillsets; breadth in the form of problem-solving in various domains using various technologies as well as depth in the form of front-end technologies and security best-practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teammates daily to enable progress toward team goals.

  • Automate tests using industry best practices.

  • Build Jenkins build pipelines and other CI/CD processes.

  • Build front end utilities using JavaScript and/or typescript.

  • Work with Product Owners and Product Managers to understand actual customer problems and build solutions for them.

  • Automate test cases and installation packages using a variety of tools.

  • Write user friendly documentation and technical documents using clear, concise language.

  • Participate in scrum ceremonies and processes, prioritizing team progress and flow.

  • Conduct constructive code reviews for teammates, driving growth in yourself and in others.

  • Identify potential areas for improvement and contribute to the team’s ongoing goal of faster and more efficient delivery of value to our end users.

Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years post bachelor’s degree experience as software engineer.

  • Highly competent in verbal and written communication.

  • Expert in computer science fundamentals, including security best practices.

  • Ability to multiply the abilities and skills of others.

  • Experience building and maintaining software products in JavaScript or typescript.

  • Knowledge and experience integrating with REST APIs.

  • Willingness to continue learning and re-learning new technologies and methods.

  • Comfortable with critical thinking and creative problem solving.

  • Knowledge and experience implementing client side security best practices.

  • Knowledge and experience with data security.

  • Experience building and maintaining software products in Java, Python, C++ (or similar).

  • Experience with one or more database systems, preferably structured (SQL).

Working Model:

  • This is a hybrid role and will require you to be in office 2-3 days a week. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
