VP of Amazon Growth

We’ve built a 9-figure revenue engine powered by performance marketing, product innovation, and a passionate customer base of over 1 million. Our Amazon channel is already one of our most profitable and highest-volume platforms, driven by DTC halo effects, sharp execution, and top-tier advertising.
Now, we're ready for the next leap: doubling our monthly 7-figure Amazon revenue, expanding our product footprint, defending our category dominance, and unlocking cross-channel synergy. We’re hiring a VP of Amazon Growth to lead that charge.
Mission
Own, scale, and protect Freebird’s Amazon channel—transforming it into a category-dominating profit engine. This role will operate as the General Manager of Amazon, responsible for full P&L ownership, strategic growth, marketplace optimization, team leadership, and cross-functional execution.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Revenue Growth & P&L Ownership
- Drive aggressive revenue growth while protecting contribution margin
- Build and execute the channel’s short- and long-term strategic roadmap
- Define, measure, and deliver on channel KPIs (revenue, BSR rank, Buy Box %, review volume, margin)
- Build systems and infrastructure to scale internationally over time
- 2. Amazon Advertising & Media Engine
- Own and optimize Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and DSP
- Launch and scale offensive and defensive keyword strategies (TOS, conquesting, branded defense)
- Manage ad performance across ASINs by funnel stage and profit target
- Use Search Query Reports, Brand Analytics, and ranking data to drive visibility and intent
- 3. External Traffic & Off-Amazon Growth
- Deploy high-performing Meta/TikTok creatives using Amazon Attribution
- Build creator/influencer flywheel programs tied to Amazon storefronts and bundles
- Leverage the Brand Referral Bonus to amplify traffic and ranking impact
- Drive hybrid DTC-to-Amazon funnel strategies and track halo effects
- 4. Listing, PDP & Conversion Rate Optimization
- Lead world-class listing strategy: titles, bullets, A+ content, imagery, videos, SEO
- Own testing and iteration roadmap via Manage Your Experiments (titles, images, A+)
- Implement high-converting bundles, comparison charts, and parent/child ASIN strategies
- Ensure mobile-first PDP performance and review-conversion design standards
- 5. Review Strategy, Ranking & Category Dominance
- Own and scale review generation engines (Vine, inserts, DTC post-purchase, etc.)
- Monitor and defend organic rank across hero and long-tail keywords
- Lead efforts to reclaim and defend top BSR positions
- Reverse engineer competitor tactics (review velocity, price cycling, fake ASINs) and counter
- 6. Brand Protection, Compliance & Listing Defense
- Own Buy Box win rate, account health, and listing uptime (target: 98–100%)
- Lead emergency SOPs for suppression, suspensions, merges, hijackers
- Use Brand Registry, Transparency, and Project Zero to protect listings/IP
- Build internal “Amazon SWAT” function for rapid issue detection & response
- 7. Product & Catalog Expansion
- Build and execute ASIN launch strategy (new kits, variations, accessories, replenishment)
- Coordinate with Product, Ops, and Creative teams for pre-launch and launch blitz
- Maximize AOV and LTV through Subscribe & Save, bundling, and merchandising
- Leverage “frequently bought together,” storefront navigation, and FBA for velocity
- 8. Team, Vendors & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and manage a high-performing Amazon team (PPC, SEO/listings, creative, ops)
- Lead external agency/vendor partners with performance accountability
- Collaborate across DTC, Ops, Product, Finance, and Creative to align growth goals
- Act as the internal Amazon GM and thought partner to executive leadership
- What Success Looks Like
- Double Amazon revenue within 12–18 months while maintaining or improving margin
- Rank top 1–3 for all hero keywords and maintain top subcategory BSR
- Maintain 98%+ Buy Box ownership and <1 day unplanned downtime/quarter
- Generate 500+ new reviews/month and raise rating to 4.6+
- Build the “Amazon OS” — repeatable, scalable infrastructure for growth and defense
- 6–10+ years scaling 3P Amazon channels (ideally $25M+ revenue range)
- Hands-on operator who’s built and owned an Amazon business P&L
- Deep Amazon Ads experience (SP, SB, DSP) and optimization expertise
- Familiar with brand defense, gray/black-hat tactics, variation manipulation, and enforcement
- Experienced in launching new products, running promotions, and managing off-Amazon traffic
- Proven leader with the ability to hire, manage, and mentor a channel-specific team

- Past success building creator/affiliate traffic engines tied to Amazon performance
