Remote work is not available./strong/ppReports to: strongRegional Teen Director/strong/ppSalary Range: strong$18.00 - $20.00/hr (depending on experience)/strong/ppHours amp; Schedule: strongMonday-Thursday 12:00pm-8:00pm, Friday 1:00pm-9:00pm (32 hours/week)/strong/ppClassification: strongFull-Time, Non-Exempt/strong/ppBenefits: strongVacation time and sick leave, 401(k), health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, New York Paid Family Leave benefits, retirement benefits, employee assistance program (EAP), and eligibility for additional third-party discounts./strong/ppbr//ppstrongKEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):/strong/ppThe following job functions are considered essential for this position:/pulliOversee the day-to-day operations of the clubhouse teen programs across both locations/liliEnsure accurate and prompt record keeping and data collection including program attendance, CACFP meal service, grant reports, and member tracking systems/liliProvide comprehensive program reports as needed to Regional Teen Director and other stakeholders/liliMaintain positive relationships and provide support to volunteers and community partners serving in our clubhouses/liliAssist in planning and attendance of member recruitment events, open houses, and program registration drives/liliEnsure BGC programs are being executed as intended and meet quality standards/liliContribute to the development of new programs and events to meet the evolving needs and interests of teens in our community/liliCommunicate effectively with staff, members, parents, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners/liliServe as the leader for Friday Teen Night events including planning, shopping, setup, and execution/liliEnsure the safety of members by following BGC, BGCCA, and all health and safety guidelines while monitoring staff and volunteers for compliance/liliProvide program information, pictures, and member stories for newsletters and marketing materials/liliDevelop and monitor compliance of operating procedures in accordance with BGCCA standards for Teen Youth Development Professionals (T-YDPs)/liliProvide leadership and respond appropriately to all emergencies and incidents/liliParticipate in assigned committees and complete all assigned trainings/liliEnsure health and safety of members by following emergency procedures and BGCCA policies/li/ulpstrongSupervisory Responsibilities:/strong/ppThis position supervises Teen Youth Development Professional team members. Responsibilities include:/pulliHiring, training, scheduling, and supervising T-YDPs/liliConducting employee performance evaluations, disciplinary notices, and performance improvement plans in accordance with BGCCA policy and procedure/liliManaging and ensuring accuracy of employee timekeeping including monitoring overtime, managing punches, staying within scheduled time, and approving timecards at the end of each payroll period/liliUtilizing scheduling software to schedule staff in accordance with state regulations and grant funding parameters/li/ulpstrongWork environment:/strong/ppFast-paced youth development environment serving teenagers ages 13-18. Work involves both indoor and outdoor settings, interaction with diverse populations, and coordination between multiple program sites. Environment requires flexibility, strong leadership presence, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously./ppstrongTravel required:/strong/ppRegular local travel required between Albany and Troy Clubhouse locations. Occasional travel for training, conferences, or community events as needed./ppbr//ppstrongRELATIONSHIPS:/strong/ppemInternal/em: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel/ppemExternal/em: Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems and building community partnerships/ppRequirements/ppstrongCREDENTIALS, SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:/strong/ppemstrongEducation and Experience:/strong/em/pulliAssociate's Degree in youth development, education, social work, or related field required/liliMinimum 2 years experience as an educator, counselor, caseworker, employment interviewer, or similar title in a community action, social service, education, or similar agency dealing with employment, education, or training/liliMust have experience working with at-risk, underserved populations/liliExperience with group facilitation preferred/liliSupervisory experience preferred/li/ulpemstrongRequired Certifications:/strong/em/pulliValid driver's license required/liliMust complete all required BGCCA and BGCA training within first 90 days/liliCPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)/li/ulpemstrongRequired Skills/Abilities:/strong/em/pulliExcellent written and oral communication skills/liliStrong leadership and supervisory capabilities/liliKnowledge of continuing education options, including high school, trade, and college programs/liliAbility to work a flexible schedule, including periodic evenings and weekends/liliStrong organizational skills and attention to detail/liliAbility to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately/liliAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment/liliProficient with Google Office Suite or related software/liliExperience with scheduling software preferred/liliStrong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills/liliMust pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, child abuse clearance, and sex offender registry check, as required by BGCCA/NYSED/OCFS regulations/li/ulpstrongPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:/strong/ppThis position may require:/pulliStanding/walking for up to 8 hours per day/liliAbility to lift and move up to 25 pounds/liliExtended periods of engaging in physical activities with teenagers/liliAbility to respond quickly in emergency situations/liliRegular verbal communication with teens, staff, and parents/liliVisual acuity to monitor teen activities and safety/liliAbility to work in various indoor and outdoor environments/li/ulpReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions./ppbr//ppemThe Boys amp; Girls Clubs of the Capital Area is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to recruiting and hiring a diverse workforce.
