As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth. We are seeking a Human Resources Student, for our North American Headquarters (Edmonton, AB) that is available for 4 months or 8 months starting in May 2024. As a Human Resources Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
Assists the team and delivers high-quality programs in the areas of talent acquisition strategies, career management, employee engagement. Upholds job posting standards through regular audits and compiles monthly talent acquisition analytics report.
Manages career-related and recruitment fraud inquiries through PCL social media and e-mail.
Fosters student engagement through the management of our student blog and student yammer community. Composes newsletters and distributes them to PCL’s talent communities. Supports salary market data analysis, survey provider research, total rewards portal support, and salary and bonus review process.
Conducts project-based research and prepares presentations.
Uses Excel to track, record, quality check and report data.
Supports with compliance, policy, process documentation and related tasks.
Provides administrative support for short-term and long-term benefit programs. Other HR programs and total rewards tasks as required.
What you will bring to the role:
Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Management, or similar focus.
Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team.
Proficient in Microsoft office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and is independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments.
Must have excellent verbal, written, and grammatical skills.
Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. Next Step:
