Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to become the dedicated financial backbone for a growing real estate business. You’ll start by organizing and catching up on approximately 2-3 years of financial records, then transition into ongoing weekly bookkeeping maintenance that will directly enable your client to focus on revenue-generating activities. This role offers the unique opportunity to work directly with the business owner through regular video calls and direct communication, building a trusted partnership while handling diverse financial scenarios including investment transactions and real estate-specific accounting needs. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing accurate financial summaries for tax purposes and ensuring the business maintains excellent financial health as it scales.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive catch-up bookkeeping for 2-3 years of backlogged financial data
  • Categorize and organize business expenses from downloadable credit card statements and bank records
  • Handle ongoing weekly bookkeeping maintenance (approximately 1 hour per week once current)
  • Process and account for cryptocurrency transactions and investment-related entries
  • Prepare detailed financial summaries and reports for tax preparation purposes
  • Work with various accounting software platforms including FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Maintain direct communication with the business owner via video calls and messaging
  • Ensure accurate expense tracking for real estate business operations and tax compliance
  • Support the client’s transition back to active real estate sales through organized financial management

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years of proven bookkeeping experience with US-based companies
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software, particularly FreshBooks, QuickBooks, and similar platforms
  • Experience with real estate business accounting and expense categorization preferred
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency transaction recording and investment accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without requiring software support calls or training
  • Excellent communication skills for direct client interaction via video conferencing
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Experience handling confidential financial information with strict security protocols
  • Availability for minimum 10 hours per week with potential for increased hours based on performance
  • Proven track record of efficient, productive work without supervision
