Key Responsibilities
Deliver personalized and group instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), setting goals and tracking progress to support each student's growth.
Partner with general education teachers, parents, and specialists to support students academic and social-emotional development.
Conduct assessments to understand students needs and abilities, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
Use virtual teaching tools and platforms to create an engaging remote learning environment.
Ensure all services comply with state and federal special education regulations and guidelines.
Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest best practices in special education and virtual instruction.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Special Education in Alaska.
Experience working with students with disabilities, ideally in a virtual or remote setting.
Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with virtual communication tools and technology.
Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
